Eid preps with no rush

Very few days are separating us from D-Day, or we may say the Day of Sacrifice. Before every big occasion like this one, traffic in town becomes highly dense due to citizens rushing for shopping, last-minute preparations, and so on. It is truly the calm before the storm.

To ease such overcrowding and outdoor buzzing, here are some steps that will help everyone be fully ready for the day and avoid any rush or pressure that may turn this happy occasion into a burden because of lack of organization.

First things first, citizens should try to finalize essential purchases as early as possible, such as livestock food, food products needed for Eid, fueling the car, and anything that may trigger or add to traffic outside. Doing this at least 72 hours before Eid will keep them one step ahead of any inconvenience. Secondly, if you still have not bought your sheep, the purchase has to be made slowly but surely. There is no need to rush because decisions made under pressure are not usually the best option. No worries, there will be a piece of the pie for everyone.

Furthermore, a ritual before any Eid is sharpening knifes for a safe slaugthering , to add families should prepare where the sacrifice will take place, whether at the home courtyard, licensed slaughter areas, or butchers. Planning ahead avoids chaos on Eid morning. Alongside this, hygiene materials like cleaning supplies and abundant access to water are extremely needed for that day, hoping that the government ensures running water in taps. Another important point is that meat preservation should be prepared in advance, including freezer space, containers, salt, and other necessities. This avoids waste and ensures safe consumption after Eid. The big deal during the first day of Eid is the wide demand for bread, a food mainly consumed with all the delicious Eid meals like douara, chwa, and similar dishes , For this reason you get yourself some baguettes on the fridge .

This religious occasion is not centered on having a nice piece of smoked meat or only enjoying food, but mainly on the history behind the story of Ibrahim’s sacrifice and the deep moral lesson behind it.
