Fresh 36,500 sheep shipments arrive ahead of Eid Rush

Two ships carrying 36,500 sheep from Romania and Spain docked Friday at Port of Mostaganem as authorities ramp up preparations for Eid al-Adha.
The imports are part of the government’s plan to bring in one million sheep ahead of the holiday. Officials say veterinary teams and port services were fully mobilized to handle unloading operations and health checks before the livestock was transferred to quarantine centers in Mostaganem and Relizane.
With this latest delivery, more than 51,000 imported sheep have already passed through the port in recent weeks as demand begins to heat up ahead of Eid.
