Morafiq.com Update lets hoppers blow the whistle on price hikes and unsafe goods

The Ministry of Internal Trade and Market Regulation announced Monday that it has put on service new features for its consumer-reporting app, “Morafiq.com,” designed to boost market transparency and give citizens a direct role in enforcement.

The update adds a real-time reporting tool that lets customers immediately flag stores that fail to display prices, a move officials say will strengthen compliance with consumer-protection rules. A second feature allows users to report concerns about product clean liness and safety, intended to support field inspections and improve the quality of goods sold.

The upgrades are part of a broader strategy to make citizens active partners in market oversight and to streamline communication with regulatory services. The ministry urged residents to download the app and use it to promote responsible reporting, protect public health and enhance the effectiveness of enforcement.
