On Board security boost for Algiers trams

Algiers commuters got a visible boost in safety this week, as security teams stepped directly into tram cars to reassure passengers and keep order.

On Tuesday evening, Setram, working alongside the National Gendarmerie, launched a security operation across the city line. Officers were deployed inside carriages during busy hours to deter misconduct and ensure smoother, safer journeys.

The goal is simple: make everyday travel more secure and restore a sense of calm for citizens relying on public transport.
