PSG Wins Amid Cooked up Fury

Victory has allegedly turned to chaos in Paris yesterday after PSG’s thrilling match against Arsenal ended with a double crown for the French , secured in a dramatic penalty shootout.

Even before the final whistle, tensions were already running high. Clashes erupted between police and supporters gathered at the Parc des Princes to watch the match on giant screens. As thousands of fans poured into the streets awaiting the result, confrontations with law enforcement began to intensify.

Things went from bad to worse after the match ended. The situation quickly spiraled out of control despite the heavy police presence and the authorities’ tough response. Many “holigans “, angered by what they viewed as excessive force, took their celebrations to dangerous extremes. Fireworks were launched at police officers, electric bikes were set ablaze, and several stores and businesses were vandalized across the capital.

It was a night when all hell broke loose, turning what should have been a historic sporting celebration into scenes of disorder and destruction. Not exactly the most modern or civilized way to celebrate a football victory.

This is far from the first time PSG celebrations have descended into chaos. Previous victories have also been marked by violence and unrest.

The reality is that Paris is a multicultural city made up of diverse communities. Maintaining calm, ensuring public safety, and preventing violence remain the responsibility of the authorities.

If arresting 400 people is the key to solving the problem, then one has to ask why similar scenes continue to unfold after major victories. The deeper issues behind these recurring outbreaks of violence remain unresolved, raising serious questions about public order, policing strategies, and social tensions in contemporary France.
