Water services on high alert ahead of Eid

With water demand expected to surge during Eid El-Adha, Algeria’s Hydraulics Ministry has moved to reassure citizens that the country’s supply network is fully prepared for the holiday rush.

During a high-level coordination meeting on Monday, Hydraulics Minister Lounès Bouzegza ordered round-the-clock monitoring of water production, storage and distribution systems to prevent disruptions during the celebrations.

Authorities say emergency teams and technical crews will remain on standby before, during and after Eid, with rapid intervention units ready to respond immediately to any breakdown or supply interruption.

The ministry also stressed that officials on the ground will personally oversee the stability of drinking water services to ensure households across the country can celebrate Eid without shortages or unexpected cuts.
