Young talent takes center stage at Oran theater event
The first edition of the Oran University Theater Days wrapped up Thursday after three days of performances, workshops, and artistic discussions celebrating young talent and creativity on stage.
Held at the Abdelkader Alloula Regional Theater, the event brought together students, theater enthusiasts, and artists from across western Algeria. Organizers called for expanding future editions, increasing student involvement, and turning the festival into a competitive event to further boost university theater.
More than 40 students received hands-on training in children’s theater, discourse analysis, and pantomime, while masterclasses in dramaturgy and scenography added a professional touch to the gathering.
Audiences also enjoyed several student-led productions, highlighting a new generation of emerging voices eager to leave their mark on Algeria’s theater scene.
