Government maps out health, startup and biodiversity priorities

Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb chaired a government meeting on Tuesday focused on three key priorities: healthcare development, startup growth and environmental protection.
Ministers reviewed progress in expanding healthcare infrastructure, strengthening medical staffing, improving emergency care and widening access to cancer treatment services across the country. The meeting also examined a new roadmap aimed at building a stronger startup ecosystem, with the goal of creating 20,000 startups by 2029 through measures supporting their launch, growth and international expansion.
The government additionally discussed Algeria’s National Biodiversity Strategy for 2025-2030, which seeks to protect ecosystems, restore degraded natural habitats and safeguard endangered species while integrating environmental concerns into broader development policies.
