Algeria women’s team begins AFCON 2026 preparations

Algeria’s women’s national football team kicked off its training camp on Monday at the National Technical Center in Sidi Moussa ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, set for July 26 to August 16.

Under head coach Farid Benstiti, the squad held its first training session in Algiers before traveling to Oran for a second workout later in the day. The coach has named a 26-player roster for the continental tournament.

Making their seventh AFCON appearance, Algeria will compete in Group A alongside Morocco, Senegal and Kenya. The Greens head into the tournament looking to build on their historic quarterfinal run in the previous edition after securing qualification with back-to-back victories over Cameroon.
