Naâma launches major road upgrade covering 110 km

Road infrastructure works are advancing across Naâma , where more than 110 km of national and provincial roads are undergoing maintenance and rehabilitation under the 2026 public works program.

Supported by a DA 6 billion budget, the project includes the construction of a 31-km dual carriageway on National Road No. 6, linking El Biodh (Naâma) to Bougtob (El Bayadh), as well as the strengthening and resurfacing of nearly 80 km of roads. Additional safety upgrades, including the replacement of concrete barriers with steel guardrails, are also planned. Last year, the province completed the rehabilitation of 92 km of roads and modernized the apron at Mecheria Airport.
