Univs launch master’s admissions as new academic year takes shape

With the 2025–2026 academic year set to officially end on Thursday, Algerian universities have already shifted focus to the next semester, opening applications for first-year Master’s programs for 2026–2027.

Under the Ministry of Higher Education’s admission policy, 80% of available Master’s places are reserved for graduates from the same university, while the remaining 20% are allocated to applicants from other institutions or previous graduating classes, with selection based on academic performance.

Meanwhile, returning students can complete their re-enrollment through the Progres platform, with online payment of registration, accommodation, and transport fees starting July 13 and closing July 25. The ministry also confirmed that summer break will begin Thursday evening and run until September 5, although universities facing academic delays may extend the current year until July 23.
